Between Chapters and Real Life
After dinner tonight, I was talking with my husband about starting this blog and how I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing or what I’m supposed to say. He reminded me that just during dinner, I had already told him four stories that could easily be blog posts. To me, they were just random things that happened during my day.
He also pointed out how often he reads articles about the most random topics. Most of the time, he clicks because of a catchy title, because the topic is funny, or because it relates to something that’s happened to him. Sometimes, he clicks just because the article exists and he’s bored. Honestly, same.
I’ve never thought of my life as particularly exciting or blog worthy. I mean, I’m not out here climbing mountains or discovering anything important. But he reminded me that I’m not the only person who feels this way and that maybe other people might relate to my everyday chaos too.
He also reminded me that my spelling doesn’t have to be perfect, that it’s okay if my thoughts wander, and that I’m new to this whole blogging thing. Which begs the question… What do I really have to lose? Other than my dignity on the internet, of course.
So I’m going to go ahead and be myself, write about the random things in my life, and see where that takes me. Worst case scenario, at least my husband will read it.
