About Jen!

Growing up, I was the kid who struggled with reading and writing, the one who would much rather have the television on than a book in her hand. My relationship with reading began to shift in my teenage years when I stumbled upon a novel by Danielle Steel that my mom had laying around and decided to give it a try. From there, reading became something I returned to on and off whenever life allowed, with a little Harry Potter magic and a touch of Twilight along the way.

It wasn’t until ten years ago,  during my recovery from breast cancer, that reading transformed into something far more. While resting at home, I picked up my Kindle and found myself slipping into other worlds and stories.  Now, you’ll almost always find me reading, often on my phone. Some may find that unconventional, but it perfectly suits my on-the-go life as a mom of two high schoolers.

I often joke that I blame Disney’s Cinderella for my lifelong search for happily-ever-after. I tend to gravitate toward specific genres, with a particular love for spicy billionaire romances. Give me a good age-gap, alpha obsessive, instant love story and it will be next on the TBR. I also enjoy both YA and adult fiction.  In the last few years I’ve been exploring more romantic fantasy. Every now and then, I’ll step outside my comfort zone for a psychological thriller, a dystopian novel, or whatever book TikTok has decided we’re all reading next.

Book blogging is new to me, but talking about books never has been. For years, a fear of writing kept me from starting this journey, but as I step into my mid-forties, I’m learning that the only real obstacle was my own overthinking. 2026 is the year I do this for myself. This space isn’t meant to be just another book review blog—it’s a place to linger, connect, make new friends, and discover new and exciting stories together.
